Stussy Make Beats Contest Champion – Zack Sekoff

If your memory is fresh (unlike ours) – just under a year ago we posted about a contest held by Stussy, Teenage Engineering and Low End Theory. After searching high and low and across the globe the decision was made to crown 16-year-old Zack Sekoff the champion of the underground beat making contest. The beat that won it all was “Belly Beat” – the first track you will hear below. Sekoff’s Ancestor’s EP was professionally recorded in Los Angeles as part of his prize pack and you can stream that for free, below.

Stussy | Make Beats Contest

We are a little late on this one, but you still have about a week to enter the contest! Stussy along with Low End Theory and Swedish synthesizer company, Teenage Engineering, who produced a new drum machine/synthesizer called the OP-1 are holding a beat making contest that you can enter now until September 14th, 2011. The winner will be chosen by a committee from Stussy, Low End Theory and Teenage Engineering and announced on 9/20/11. Contest rules include one entry per artist, who can use anything to make an ORIGINAL instrumental beat, at least 2 minutes in length. The winner will receive the release of their EP, paid travel to Los Angeles to perform at the Low End Theory event, a Teenage Engineering OP-1 portable synthesizer, a 1 year SoundCloud Pro account and a box of fresh Stussy gear.
