DIY Screen Printing Kits

DIY Screen Printing Kit

We’ve dabbed into a bit of screen printing in our day. Pumping out shirts in the garage of a friend’s house, we were damn near DIY. With these DIY Screen Printing Kits you can do what we did, but with organization and everything you need to accomplish it. There are two kits to choose from – the DIY T-Shirt Kit or the DIY Gig Poster Kit and both include everything you need to get your mini print shop generating revenue. Included in your kit are a press, a wood screen, a halogen exposure light with mounting fixture, a squeegee, a scoop coater, a pint of photo emulsion, a yellow bulb, ink, a screen degreaser, emulsion remover, adhesive, scrub pads, french or parchment paper, a manual, and an instructional DVD. Your initial investment will run about $250-$280 but that’s not bad for a start-up these days.

The Subculture of Screen Printers in Los Angeles

We are sure every fashion brand out there knows about or has started their fashion label with the help of a screen printer – most likely a screen printing shop. In the video above Thrash Lab takes us on a tour of Los Angeles-based screen printers as they give us a look inside their unique techniques and the different approaches that each of them take. A very interesting video so check it out above.
