SUMMO Wall Murals

SUMMO-graffiti-wall-murals-00

We received some sad news today that 5 Pointz, an abandoned warehouse turned graffiti mecca situated in Queens, NY had been painted over with white paint as the building is set to be demolished soon. It’s definitely a disappointing day in the graffiti world, but when I came across SUMMO Wall Murals today I thought it might brighten your day a little bit. From various artists throughout the world, SUMMO is bringing you large (or small) format prints up to 10’W x 7’H, or you can even customize your size. You can even try to turn your humble abode into a mini 5 Pointz, but that may take some serious time and cash. In the mean time just pick one of these up to satisfy your graffiti cravings.

There are 18 controllers from various different consoles in the series and if you are really digging them, you can actually buy the prints from Brandon’s online shop.

This may seem a bit tree huggerish’, but visiting all of the National Parks in America one day is a feat you’ll find well on top of my bucket list. If you’ve been as lucky as me to visit a few National Parks, and you too have a favorite, then you’ll probably find it as part of Muir Way National Park Maps. Each map is simply broken down into a minimal piece of art, while also adding the choice of various color options, various canvas size options, and a whole slew of National Parks. We decided to use our most recent visit for our featured image, which was Mt. Rainier National Park.

Cryptik Lord Shiva

Cryptik-Lord-Shiva-Print-00

Ah, it’s always exciting when Cryptik releases new art into the world, and today our favorite street artist did just that with the release of the Cryptik Lord Shiva print. The new release is the latest from the “Eastern Philosophy” Series and if you aren’t familiar with Lord Shiva, below is a pretty thorough explanation for you.

“Shiva is the god of the yogis, self-controlled and celibate, while at the same time a lover of his spouse (Shakti/Parvati). Lord Shiva is the destroyer of the world, following Brahma the creator and Vishnu the preserver, after which Brahma again creates the world and so on. Shiva is responsible for change both in the form of death and destruction and in the positive sense of destroying the ego, the false identification with the form. This also includes the shedding of old habits and attachments.

All that has a beginning by necessity must have an end. In destruction, truly nothing is destroyed but the illusion of individuality. Thus the power of destruction associated with Lord Shiva has great purifying power, both on a more personal level when problems make us see reality more clearly, as on a more universal level. Destruction opens the path for a new creation of the universe, a new opportunity for the beauty and drama of universal illusion to unfold. As Satyam, Shivam, Sundaram or Truth, Goodness and Beauty, Shiva represents the most essential goodness.” – Sanatan Society

There are only 125 prints available and it comes in 18″ x 24″ on Heavyweight Cream Speckletone paper, signed and numbered by the artist.
