When I found about this new app from Nike earlier this morning I thought to myself, “What the hell did they do now?” As I’m playing with Nike PHOTOiD I’ve realized it has sucked me in and I don’t want it to spit me out. Two powerhouses like Nike and Instagram have the ability to do that and I can’t complain. Like any other marketing concept, the idea behind this is to obviously get the consumer to buy, buy, buy! But, this damn thing really makes you want to buy, buy, buy the shoe because it’s almost a portrayal of yourself and what you are inspired by. You’re probably like WTF? Well, this new app from Nike seeks to allow users to combine captured moments with a corresponding piece of footwear by applying the image’s color palette to the likes of a number of Air Max classics – the Air Max 1, Air Max 90, and the Air Max 95. Once you feel satisfied with your design the finished product can then be purchased and shared through Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest, Google+, and Instagram itself via smart phone, tablet, or computer.
