Media Consolidation – The Illusion of Choice

Many of us sit and wonder why we repeatedly keep hearing the same 20 songs on the radio. No, people aren’t calling into radio stations requesting the same song 100 times over. The answer: media-consolidation. 90% of the media is controlled by only 6 companies: GE, Newscorp, Disney, Viacom & Time Warner. Compare that to 1983 when media was owned by 50 companies. We are at a point where music and media in general are so watered down that the best out there goes unheard and unseen by millions.
