If you are a Samsung user and your sleeping on the new Jay-Z album then shame on you! For all of you non-Samsung users out there (like us) you can now copp Magna Carta… Holy Grail physically and digitally. We were expecting a new Jay-Z album this year, but we certainly weren’t expecting the marketing efforts put forth along with the rapid release. Another shocker was the $5 million dollar deal, plus the 1,000,000 digital copies bought by Samsung, while also developing an app for the album that is up for free on Google Play for the first 1,000,000 users (damn that’s a lot of millions). Many people have snarled at the way HOV approached this new album. Some have even said he’s officially sold out for the better of those corporate hogs. But, in the end we’d like to call this dude a marketing genius – right next to musician and entrepreneur. Everything he touches turns into a profit and it doesn’t look like he’ll be stopping anytime soon.

We’ve listened to the album over here at the office and we aren’t going to lie, getting into it after track 1 takes a few listens and oh shits! Its a totally different vibe from the Blueprint 3, where from beginning to end the “oh shits!” never stop. Take a listen to the album below and let us know what you think by voting on the poll, which is also below.
