PIXELIST

PIXELIST-Instagram-Oil-Paintings-00

We’ve been around for over two years and we’ve seen everything you can do to an Instagram – so we thought. Pixelist is now offering custom oil paintings of your favorite Instagrams and they are handcrafted paintings, not something generated from a commercial high-grade printer. They are offering sizes from 12″x12″ up to 6′ x 6′ for the ballers that have $1,000 ready to drop on one of their Instagrams. All you have to do is choose your absolute favorite photo, select your perk, hit check out and all you have to do is wait for your handpainted Instagram to arrive at your doorstep.

Video on Instagram

Video-on-Instagram

It was bound to happen sooner than later right? Introducing Video on Instagram. Your favorite photo sharing app rolled out the new feature yesterday and we’ve already got a slew of video cramming up our feed. Now, when you go to take a photo on Instagram, you’ll now see a movie camera icon. Tap it to enter video mode, where you can take up to 15 seconds of video through the Instagram camera. Record and stop as you please and when you’re done, they’ve added 13 new filters built specifically for video. Looks like Vine will be taking a backseat for a while, if not, for good.

Update NOW.

Nike PHOTOiD

Nike-PHOTOiD-Instagram-00

When I found about this new app from Nike earlier this morning I thought to myself, “What the hell did they do now?” As I’m playing with Nike PHOTOiD I’ve realized it has sucked me in and I don’t want it to spit me out. Two powerhouses like Nike and Instagram have the ability to do that and I can’t complain. Like any other marketing concept, the idea behind this is to obviously get the consumer to buy, buy, buy! But, this damn thing really makes you want to buy, buy, buy the shoe because it’s almost a portrayal of yourself and what you are inspired by. You’re probably like WTF? Well, this new app from Nike seeks to allow users to combine captured moments with a corresponding piece of footwear by applying the image’s color palette to the likes of a number of Air Max classics – the Air Max 1, Air Max 90, and the Air Max 95. Once you feel satisfied with your design the finished product can then be purchased and shared through Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest, Google+, and Instagram itself via smart phone, tablet, or computer.

Instagram Web Profiles

ig-profile-direktconcept

We have seen it from third-party sites but the real deal has finally arrived. Instagram has finally crossed out web profiles on its “List of Things To Do”. We aren’t sure if they really have that list, but assumption never hurts. You can do the same thing’s you would on your iPhone or Android but now from a computer. Now get out there and follow us! Authentic Instagram – just the way we like it.

Printstagram Calendar

Many of us still enjoy manually ripping off that piece of paper, letting us know what day just passed and the day it currently is – AKA a desk calendar. This one though, this is not just any desk calendar. Making your average desk calendar cool and fun again is Printstagram. It allows you to create a calendar with 365 of your very own Instagram photos, making these days perfect to remember by neatly pinning them up on your cubicle. If you are an avid Instagramographer (I think we just made that up) these would make a perfect gift for a friend or family member.

Instagram of the Week – Kendrick Lamar at SOMA

Last week we had the opportunity to catch Kendrick Lamar at SOMA live in San Diego. Yes, we know it’s not the greatest picture, but the performance had my head bobbing and hands in the air, so we had to share a little bit of something with you. If you haven’t seen this kid live we suggest you do while he is still performing in smaller venues because after his new album good kid, m.A.A.d city drops – it’s over. We suggest you pick that up October 22.

Instacube

Digital frames have become a pretty big hit in the few years that they have been available on the market. Not many are as cool as this one though. Another addition to the Instagram craze we get Instacube. A 600×600 LCD touch screen display that lets you stream your photos directly to it from your Instagram photo library. You can scroll through photos via the touch screen or even “Like” a photo with the heart-shaped button atop the device. With stand-out cosmetics, the gadget is perfect for parties, business’ or even just an everyday picture frame that you can display around the crib. The project has well surpassed its goal on Kickstarter, but there are still several days left on the project- enabling you to pre-order it.

 More after the jump.
