Apple iMac 2012

Better late than never – an old term that we definitely live by sometimes. The unveiling of the new Apple iMac 2012 last week brings us a much thinner screen at about 5mm and is 40% smaller in volume than past models. Gutting the insides we see that its powered by quad-core Intel Core i5 processors, can hold up to 32GB of RAM and can be configured with the new Fusion Drive storage option that combines 128GB of flash memory with a 1TB or 3TB hard drive to offer most of the speed of an SSD with the vast storage of a standard hard drive. Did we mention it features a completely re-engineered display (putting the screen closer to the glass) that reduces reflections by 75%? The 21.5-inch model is coming in November with the 27-inch gracing us in December.

Apple iMac with Thunderbolt

Apple has released their new Apple iMac with the Thunderbolt port feature. It consists of two 10-Gbps data channels for data transfer that’s up to 12 times faster than FireWire 800 and up to 20 times faster than USB 2.0. And it offers unprecedented expansion capabilities for a new generation of high-performance peripherals. It also brings quad-core Sandy Bridge Core i5 and i7 processors to the lineup, FaceTime HD video chat camera, updated ATI graphics, available SSD boot drive, and your choice between a Magic Mouse or Magic Trackpad. Apple just keeps bringing it to the table!
