It looks like the much-anticipated Google Playhas made it to the top of their navigation bar and has set forth for take-off. Google Play is a new digital content experience from Google where you can find your favorite music, movies, books, and Android apps and games. It’s your entertainment hub: you can access it from the web or from your Android device or even TV, and all your content is instantly available across all of these devices. As an alternative to the Apple iTunes store; Play stands out from its counter part as it takes the “open,” cross-platform, approach. In other words – you don’t have to own an Android device to rent movies or purchase music, it’s all cloud-backed and browser accessible. They have also paved the way for other platforms by developing a Google Play app for iOS devices and as competition heats up all over the tech world. It will be interesting to see how well Google Play performs over its “Goliath” of a rival – iTunes.
