Well, it just got a lot easier and cheaper to get yourself back in with the KeyMe app. All you have to do is take a picture of each of your keys and they will save in a secure cloud. If anything ever happens to your keys, you can take your ass to the local hardware store, get a key made and bam! You’ve got yourself a brand new key and you didn’t have to pay hundreds of dollars to a locksmith. You can also share your keys with family and friends via the cloud, but would you really want to do that?

MAKING By Nike

If you are a designer at heart (just like us) then you should get your grubby little hands on the new MAKING app from Nike. If you want to go behind the scenes and gain knowledge from the designers that push the limit at Nike, then this is the app for you. Fueled by the seven-year creation in the Nike Materials Sustainability Index you’ll be able to look at the criteria they use while designing shoes, clothes, and other Nike gear. You’ll basically be breaking it down to a science by ranking them based on four key impact areas: Chemistry, Energy/Greenhouse Gas Intensity, Water/Land Intensity, and Physical Waste. Now if you can wrap your head around that, we give you props. After you download the app just think of it as saving the world one material at a time.

Three Weather App

If you think about it we check the daily forecast to figure out what we’re going to wear for that day. Whether it be rainy, cloudy, cold or hot we always like to be dressed to impress. If you aren’t as fashion forward like us over here at DirektConcept (just kidding) then download the Three Weather app.  Along with the providing you the time, date, city and temperature, this app also provides you with three specific items of clothing to coincide with the weather for that day. If you aren’t feeling the outfit or perhaps only one of the pieces, simply tap and hold any item, select “Replace This” and it’ll be replaced with a different option. Simple but effective – just the way we like it!

Video on Instagram

It was bound to happen sooner than later right? Introducing Video on Instagram. Your favorite photo sharing app rolled out the new feature yesterday and we’ve already got a slew of video cramming up our feed. Now, when you go to take a photo on Instagram, you’ll now see a movie camera icon. Tap it to enter video mode, where you can take up to 15 seconds of video through the Instagram camera. Record and stop as you please and when you’re done, they’ve added 13 new filters built specifically for video. Looks like Vine will be taking a backseat for a while, if not, for good.

Bondsy App

We’ve definitely seen our share of apps that let you sell things. With the Bondsy app though, money isn’t part of the equation. Letting you TRADE things like products, perishable items, opportunities, handmade goods, skills, experiences and favors, it’s pretty much an infinite “thing.” What sets it apart from other apps is the “friend only” based network of trading. You simply snap a photo, write a story and add price tags. Pride tags? Get that concerned look off your face as they are freeform, so you can ask for anything in return and when you want something, tap ‘Grab’ and make an offer. If you see something you like but don’t really need it, share it through your network with someone who might be interested so you can help a brotha out. As the pilgrims always said “trade wisely.” Actually, I don’t know if they really said that but it sounds pretty damn good.

Field Trip App

If traveling the world is on your bucket list then you might need to download the Field Trip app. While out exploring your destination, that you know nothing about, you might miss a few really interesting things here and there. Well, this app won’t let you miss a step. Simply select your local feeds of choice, let it run in the background of your phone and as you approach certain areas, the app will notify you of cool, hidden, and unique places around you. If you have a headset or bluetooth connected, it’ll even read the info straight to you, giving you the convenience of not having to pull out your phone. Now you can bypass the BS at the concierge and go straight to your self-guided tour.

We can all shy away from high-end items, but in the end we’d all like to get our grubby little hands on them. With everything evolving at such a fast rate, people are also buying these valuable items at the same pace thus leaving them with spare and unused gear. Well, the Sold iPhone app is here to help you get rid of that first generation iPad, last year’s sunglasses and those Mac Books you’ve been stackin’ up over the years. The concept is simple. Snap a few photos, submit it to Sold, wait for approval and BAM! Sold will take care of your pricing, selling and closing of all deals. All you have to do is wait for the addressed shipping box (that they send you), ship your item and your paid son!

Kicks on a Plane

If you haven’t heard of Marcus Troy then you don’t read enough #menswear blogs. Nah, just kidding. Started with blogging, he has become known as a taste maker for men’s fashion, and has partnered up with several different big named brands like Puma and Nike. He’s also a pretty stylish dude. Last week, Troy went live with his Kicks on a Plane iPhone app and damn is it clean. The whole objective of the app is simple – post a picture of your kicks while on a plane, or you can just say you’re on a plane but your really sitting in your cubicle at work. Either way, the point is strictly KICKS. So, if you are a sneaker head that wears a different pair everyday, Kicks on a Plane is that place to flaunt your oh so stylish ways. After the buzz of Twitter #Music all over the web, we were all left wondering when a set release date would come. Finally, the hashtag killer has released their new Twitter #Music App for all of us to enjoy. The gist of the app is to connect and pull your favorite songs, along with artists from iTunes, Spotify and Rdio. With that, the app will then help you discover music that’s trending, emerging artists, what the artists you follow are listening to, and what tracks your friends are jammin’ out to.
