If you are a diehard Apple fan, collector or just have $300,000.00 you can spend for funsies then head over to Christie’s Auction House to bid on this Apple 1. It’s one of 200 Apple-1 computers produced in 1976 and one of about 40-50 in existence to this very day. The computer you see above is actually one of the first 25 to be built and it has everything it needs to prove it like the handwritten serial number and date code on the 6402 processor. The first Apple-1 was designed by Steve Wozniak and hand-built in Steve Jobs’s parents’ garage which in turn became the first crucial step in the personal computing world. To think this thing was once retailing at $666.66 with only a motherboard and without a keyboard, transformer, or video display is completely insane. But, I’d rather pay that than $300k+.
