Interesting and exciting announcements have come to us today from the WWDC Conference in Downtown San Francisco. Apple has announced that the new iOS 6 will be released this fall and it is packed with updates. Serving up 200 new features for the new iOS, including new apps and upgrades to Siri, the announcement is sure to please the Apple fanatics.

Apple Maps:
Beautifully designed from the ground up, Maps will change the way you see the world. Map elements are vector based, graphics and text are incredibly detailed — even when you zoom all the way in — and panning is smooth. Tilt and rotate to view an area, and Maps keeps the names of streets and places where they belong. Get visual and spoken turn-by-turn navigation and real-time traffic updates. Even soar over cityscapes to see the sights from the air in amazing, high-resolution quality.
Siri:
If you are a user of Siri you know that she can be a real big B*!@h sometimes but now Siri understands more languages, works in more countries, and is now available on the new iPad. If you’re sports junkies like us, Siri now pulls in sports from Yahoo allowing you to retrieve game time updates instantly. Another big one for us is the restaurant/Yelp integration, offering average price per menu item, reviews and Yelp rating.
Facebook Integration:
Now it’s easier than ever to interact with the world’s largest social network. And there’s no need to leave your app to do it. Share a photo to Facebook right from Camera or Photos. Post your location right from Maps and if you have your hands full, just ask Siri to post for you.
Passbook:
One of our favorite apps of the announcement is Passbook. With Passbook you can scan your iPhone or iPod touch to check in for a flight, get into a movie, and even redeem a coupon. You can also see when your coupons expire, where your concert seats are, and the balance left on that Starbucks card. Pretty damn convenient if you ask us.
Support:
- iOS 6 will be supported on the iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, and iPhone 3GS.
- iOS 6 will be supported on the iPad, iPad 2, and the new iPad.
- iOS 6 will be supported on the fourth-generation iPod touch.
